Dubai

We recently took a 3 day trip to Dubai to see our very good friend, Spencer.  It was his birthday so we thought we'd visit and spend some time with him.  He lives on one of the palms of Dubai and has the most amazing view, a swimming pool and a beach!  On our first day, we just chilled out, ate blueberries and drank coffee.  In the evening, we had a wonderful Thai dinner over looking the Burj Khalifa and the singing, dancing water fountains.  After dinner, Spencer took us up the tallest building in the world.  It was pretty spectacular!  The lights we incredible.

When we came back down, we walked around the Dubai Mall which is the biggest mall in the world.  It has 1200 shops and an aquarium.  It was PACKED!

Dubai is a smorgasbord of people from all over the world.  I grew up in London which is a very multi-cultural place, but Dubai is probably a little bit more of a mix.  It is an interesting place where expats come, make money and then either go home or stay for a few more years.  Everything you want and more is there.  Even a Tim Hortons and a Burger Fuel.

Here are s few snaps from Dubai.

On the beach, we were people spotting and we saw 2 young girls posing for pictures.  Then, all of a sudden, a man came along and started to take pictures of both of them.  It was HILARIOUS!  Apparently, Dubai is a bit of posers town :-)

Burger Fuel is THE BEST burger joint in the WORLD!  I'm not kidding!  It is a New Zealand franchise so it was brilliant to be reacquainted with some NZ flavours.

Tim Hortons is very popular in Dubai!

I thought this was a great picture!
